A Year In Review: Season 1 of LOPSD
Well, I have to say, it’s been a few years since I’ve written on the blog since I’ve been writing an academic paper a week since 2021, but now, we’re almost finished— just one dissertation to go!
I miss writing and plan to use my blog as a resource for dance parents and dancers alike. I’ve been blogging since 2015 where Life On Pointe all started on a wordpress account, then graduated a year later to YouTube, and nine years later became a school. We’ve come a long way and seen Elyanna in all her forms: an awkward teenager with a passion for dance, to a young adult just trying to figure out life, to professional performance tours two years running, to opening her dance studio, and then from a Miss to Mrs. Wow, we’ve come quite far.
But to relaunch the blog of LOP, I wanted to give a year in review because it’s something I am beyond proud of.
LIFE ON POINTE SCHOOL OF DANCE 2024/2025 SEASON
We are so proud of each and every student who joined us for the 2024/2025 season. Each dancer worked so hard every single class, gave their all, and grew exponentially. Season 1 of LOPSD was the biggest unexpected blessing I could have ever imagined. After exactly 1 year as an official dance program, I am so very proud of what has been accomplished, and am inspired for Phase 2 of LOPSD. To all the parents, students, and guest faculty members, thank you for making a dream come true, not just for me, but for those served in our program.
I.
Two students competed at Youth America Grand Prix and California Dance Classics. One of our dancers debuted her own choreography on stage. One of our dancers placed Top 12 at CDC & Top 24 at YAGP.
II.
Six students gave back to the community for a special rendition of The Nutcracker Suite during FloodBako’s community event! Hundreds were reached that day and everyone was able to dance for a good cause.
III.
Six dancers entered into the Royal Academy of Dance Examinations, scoring Distinction & High Merits on their evaluations.
IV.
We put on our first ever performance of Cinderella, collaborating with Revolution Dance Academy for our
end of the year show. We had a totally sold out show and a beautiful performance was given by all of our dancers.
V.
2 Full-Fledged scholarships were granted to students at LOPSD, one for performance, and one for tuition.
VI.
Our first year was profitable, all while giving back to our dancers and community and maintaining our A+
standing with the Better Business Bureau for Trust, Integrity, & Performance.
VII.
50 dancers were served at LOPSD this past year. Four dancers with autism and neurodivergence grew with us.
One student started her own business and also received her first professional gig. One alum with Mrs. Bradshaw graduated from Lines Ballet Trainee Program.
VIII.
The Launch of LIFE ON POINTE DANCE EDUCATION Certification launched June 16th, 2025, with the hopes of supporting and mentoring QUALITY TEACHERS for the next generation of dancers.
2024/2025 is a season to be proud of. Our commitment to the next generation of dancers and supporting them in their careers is the number one priority at LOPSD. In addition to that, we believe in FAMILY, where the students are able to be educated with family values at the center of student development. This is supported by our methodology of social-emotional learning, somatic practice, and dance science as the baseline of our framework of teaching. Thank you for an amazing year, and we look forward to what is ahead!
Until next time,
Mrs. Bradshaw
