These classes are designed to bring a collective of dancers from all around Kern County to dance together. KBC will set the example to dancers in Kern that no matter what studio you dance at, everyone has something beautiful to bring to the table and it’s important to preserve the future of performing arts to collaborate.

PREREQUISITE:

• Be dancing at any studio at least 1-2 ballet classes per week at appropriate level.

• Age requirement met

EVELYN EVERGREEN’S White Christmas - A whimsical neoclassical ballet inspired by A Christmas Carol, set in a glamorous 1950s holiday world with Nutcracker-style magic.

TWO SHOWINGS:

• November 30th, 2025 | Fox Theatre | KDA Open Stage (fundraiser)

• December 13th, 2025 | First Presbyterian | FloodBako Winter Wonderland (excerpts)

COST:

• $20.00 performance fee.

PREREQUISITE:

• Attend company class regularly (audition day will be held in company classes TBA)

• Commit to rehearsal period & give no-show dates up front

• Must be willing to sign contract for Fall 2025 season

• Attend 2 ballet classes at home studio (minimum)

• Give release for media purposes (photos, video, etc.)

• Youth America Grand Prix

• Universal Ballet Competition

• California Dance Classics

• ADC International Ballet Competition

DURATION:

• September 2025 - March 2026 | Rehearsals (1 hr. blocks & 30 min blocks)

• January - March 2026 | Competitions

COST BREAKDOWN:

• 1 Solo @ 1 Competition: Registration Fees + $359 (additional competitions added are Registration Fees + $59).

• 2 Solo @ 1 Competition: Registration Fees + $659 (additional competitions added are Registration Fees + $59).

• 3 Solo @ 1 Competition: Registration Fees + $959 (additional competitions added are Registration Fees + $59).

Dancers will be representing their home studios and Kern Ballet Collective for Royal Academy of Dance exams, however the RAD Certified Teacher will be awarded as their teacher under the RAD organization.

FREELANCE OPPORTUNITIES

Many times, people reach out to LOPSD asking Mrs. Bradshaw to come perform at their events. Now that she is in a retirement capacity for being a dancer, she opens up these opportunities to the dancers at LOPSD. This will now open up the opportunities for the dancers part of KBC to have first pick on gigs and freelance opportunities. Should these opportunities come about, you will be reached out to during the season.

NETWORKING

KBC dancers will be invited to take classes with master teachers in LA with the class costs covered. Dancers must meet the requirements of being part of the company to be part of these classes.

PROFESSIONAL ATMOSPHERE

As a former professional ballet dancer, KBC will be run in an official company capacity so dancers know what to expect in a professional atmosphere. This is also an opportunity for the dancers to dance with other professional dancers that we will invite to perform at our showcases and fundraisers.
