At our youngest level in Pearls, the goal here is to develop the dancer’s fine motor skills and ability to connect their imagination to story building. Since they are growing at such a rapid rate, ballet steps won’t solidify in their little brains and bodies, therefore movement is curated around telling stories, acting, and imagination. In these classes, we generalize the physical autonomy by using simple language (arm, neck, ankle, etc.) to help them achieve the movement skills they need.

In Quartz, we build upon their ability to hold more progressive ballet shapes and introduce the vocabulary (plie, tendu, etc.). We also continue building upon their knowledge of the body by actively talking about muscle groups and talking about the “why” and “how” of the movement.
